Interneuron Pharmaceuticals Inc., developer of the controversial diet drug Redux that was pulled off the market in September 1997, yesterday sued its marketing and distribution partner American Home Products for fraud, misrepresentation, and breach of contract.

The lawsuit, filed in Middlesex Superior Court, spotlights the simmering schism between the two companies that followed the highly publicized removal and lawsuits surrounding Redux, the first diet drug to be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in a dozen years.
