Is it wise to hold the nation's first primary in New Hampshire? Today's New Hampshire is vastly different from the New Hampshire of 1952, the year of the state's first modern presidential primary.

While thumbing through a catalog of outdoor clothing and gear recently, I was reminded once again of how much the state has changed. Most of the catalog's shoes, hiking boots, jackets, coats and more were made in China, Thailand, Sri Lanka and other nations in Asia and Europe. "Made in USA" appeared occasionally, but not often. Welcome to the global economy.
