Jim Leger cares . . . for kids and causes. He cares for the
handicapped and the underdog.
He gives of himself.
A Saugus native who attended Saugus High School and Phillips
Exeter Academy, Leger is a senior hockey captain at the University of
Maine at Orono. He has shown so much caring during his prep school
and college days that he has been nominated for the Hockey
Humanitarian Award. It's a national award given annually to a person
involved in hockey who gives a great deal of herself or himself to
others.
On Feb. 12, Leger was one of two UMO student-athletes honored with
Dean Smith Awards, given annually to seniors who exhibit exemplary
academic and athletic achievement, leadership and ...
