Mathilda (Wiesman) Holzman, an expert of psycholinguistics who
taught at Tufts University for many years, died June 3 in her home in
Lexington of complications of a stroke suffered nine months earlier.
She was 76.
Mrs. Holzman was born in Denver. She graduated from the
University of Colorado, earned a master's degree at Radcliffe College
and a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of
Washington.
She was a researcher in the econometric unit of the International
Monetary Fund for several years before deciding to study psychology.
