Article: FAMILY SAYS TEEN WHO DROWNED WAS STRONG SWIMMER

The family of a teenage girl who drowned in a pool in Franklin Monday night say they are still too overwhelmed by grief to ask how that could happen to someone who was a strong swimmer.

Krystal Brown, 16, died about 9 p.m. while swimming with her brother, sister, two cousins, and four friends at Hockomock Area YMCA in Franklin.

"Krystal was an avid swimmer, so we really don't know why it happened," said Diane White-Pelosi, one of the girl's guardians. "It's mystifying to us."

Franklin police and the Norfolk district attorney's office said that they were treating the death as an accident.
