FOXBOROUGH - He wanted to be a USC Trojan and an Oakland Raider,
but he was an Arizona State Sun Devil, and today he is a New England
Patriot.
Maybe J.R. Redmond didn't get exactly what he wanted, but really,
all he ever wanted was to play football.
"Born to play football," said Arizona State University coach Bruce
Snyder. "Throughout the problem he had last fall, it was easy to see
that the one place where he could escape everything was on the field.
It was there the smile returned to his face, the intensity came back
into his game. When he was on the field doing what he loves, nothing
can touch J.R. And nothing did. This is a neat kid. You're going to
like this kid a lot."
