When a revolution passes far enough into history that the
revolutionaries start dying of old age and long chronicles begin to
appear, it's time for a look back at the epoch.
Which means the moment has arrived to consider the sexual
revolution.
After all, Alex Comfort, the British physician whose book "The Joy
of Sex: A Gourmet Guide to Lovemaking" became an early '70s emblem of
the avant-garde, passed away in March at age 80, almost as David
Allyn's "Make Love, Not War: The Sexual Revolution, An Unfettered
History" came into print.
