"Daughter of an Upstanding Citizen" wrote an open letter to her
father telling him how his sexual abuse affected her and caused her
sister to commit suicide.
I could have written that to my father. You said it was good for
her to have written and you got that right! Now that my father is
dead, I regret that I didn't tell him how his molesting made me feel
useless and the one that was at fault at 9 years old. I later became
addicted to drugs and alcohol.
What makes "Daughter" 's letter kind of cool is the fact that any
guilty father who reads it may actually believe that his own daughter
has written about him.
