It's a banner year for dinosaurs. They are popping up everywhere -
in new books, museum exhibits, on television, and in movies. That's
good news for the many children and adults who have an insatiable
appetite for dinosaur knowledge.
Children's Literature Dinosaurs disappeared about 65 million
years ago, yet, we remain fascinated with their appearance and
behavior. Today, paleontologists are finding new varieties of
dinosaurs almost every month - from the Arctic to the South Pole.
"Dinosaurs are popular with children for a number of reasons,"
said Don Lessem, a Boston paleontologist who writes a column for
Highlights Magazine.
