Washington Bullets forward Chris Webber's decision to treat his
injured left shoulder through rehabilitation rather than surgery
could get him back on the court in about five weeks, but is apt to
just delay the inevitable operation, according to orthopedic surgeons
who specialize in shoulder injuries.
"Now that he has had two shoulder dislocations, the likelihood for
this to be a recurrent problem is 100 percent given his profession,"
said Joseph Iannotti, chief of the shoulder and elbow service at the
University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
How soon Webber's shoulder could dislocate again is anyone's
