Sick of politics? Head to your local high school wrestling meet
and you'll see none of the misjudgment, favoritism, or prejudice that
can exist in the political arena.
"I make a big deal that there is no politics in wrestling," said
Bruce Rich, coach of two-time defending Division 1 champion
Chelmsford.
"When I talk to younger kids, I say when you get to high school,
not all kids get playing time in different sports. Some don't.
"In wrestling, you make your own spot, you earn your own position,
no politics. It's just you and your opponent and a referee out there
on the mat . . . Coaching has very little to do with it."
