The pomegranate looks more like an ornamental piece of nature than
a sumptuous fruit. Just smaller than a softball, with a red leathery
skin and a small puckered protrusion at the blossom end, it has a
profile that has been recognizable through the ages. Celebrated in
Greek mythology and in the Bible, with a rich history as a fertility
