Article: LIQUOR STORE MOVE FACES NEW HURDLE

DORCHESTER - The relocation of a Fields Corner liquor store, already imperiled by license violations, may be further jeopardized by assertions that part of the proposed site is actually perched on Boston Public Schools property.

Update

School officials now say that a fence separating the liquor store's would-be home in a Dorchester Avenue building and the Grover Cleveland Middle School is at least 15 feet over the true property line, and that the school's boundary extends to just 4 feet from the back of that building.

While city officials say they will ask the liquor store owners to knock down the fence, their finding could also knock out a key element of the business's moving strategy.
