Mum's the word, and Oscar De La Hoya is not, at HBO these days.

The biggest draw in boxing is engaged in what may prove to be the biggest fight of his life - a battle with Time Warner, HBO's parent company, over who controls his fistic future.

On paper that would seem to be HBO, since De La Hoya has entered into several contracts since 1993, apparently willingly, allowing the cable giant to televise a set number of his fights for a set number - a very big set number - of dollars.

HBO and its pay-per-view arm, TVKO, have paid De La Hoya more than $100 million as part of those deals and, after the latest extension, were set to pay him some more March 24, when De La Hoya is planning to end his ...
