The sky's no limit for Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. and Potomac
Electric Power Co.
Constellation Energy Corp. is the name the two companies unveiled
yesterday for their soon-to-be-merged company.
"In Constellation Energy Corp., we've chosen an identity that is
not geographically confining . . . ," said BGE Chairman Christian H.
Poindexter, who will serve as chief executive of the combined
company.
The power companies announced in September that they would merge
to form the nation's ninth-largest utility. It will be based in
Annapolis.
The name Constellation, industry analysts agreed, indicates that
as the power industry changes, the new company will reach beyond the
traditional service ...
