The City of Boston has come up with a cutting-edge way of using
the Web to make the lives of its residents a little bit easier.
Unfortunately, almost no one in Boston is aware of it.
The city's Web site, cityofBoston.gov, now allows a resident to
pull all sorts of information from the site together in one
personalized page dubbed mygov. The resident can quickly check his
property, excise tax, and dog license information, find out about
health violations at his favorite restaurants, or choose to receive
special announcements on various topics by e-mail or electronic phone
message.
The notification process has a lot of potential. Snowstorms, for
example, cause a lot of headaches for the city ...
