Cakes may be perfect for birthdays and cookies just right for
picnics, but for Thanksgiving, we must have pie. In my house, it's
not just one pie. We need at least three to make the necessary grand
finish for our annual feast.
With everyone in the family craving a favorite, it can be hard to
decide what pies to bake. To solve the dilemma, I combine several
traditional ideas in the same pie. An apple pie gets a pecan-crunch
topping, a chocolate cream pie made with both dark and white
chocolate makes everyone happy, including the baker.
Pie making can be divided into two parts - crust and filling.
