It's one of nature's cruel little jokes, mean and unfair, like the
fact that over a lifetime the human nose keeps growing and sex drive
wanes. What a bummer. You toil your whole life only to cross the
threshold of your golden years with a schnoz like Jimmy Durante's and
the social life of a monk. Swell.
It's pretty much the same with acne. Not the acne most of us had
at 15, the kind we tried to scrub away with Buff Puffs and suffocate
with dollops of Clearasil. No, I mean adult acne, an irksome
affliction that pops up in your 20s or 30s, as unexpected and
unwelcome as a stripper at your parents' 30th anniversary party. Just
