Article: In church closing, city loses a ritual Weekly Latin Mass will move to Newton

Today marks the last time a weekly traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated in Boston. The Holy Trinity Church in the South End, home to the only Latin Mass sanctioned by the Boston Archdiocese since 1990, is one of the churches that learned in 2004 it was being closed as part of a massive cost-cutting and reorganization effort by the Catholic Church.

Church officials informed the 300 Latin Mass parishioners late last month that the first service at their new home will begin next Sunday at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes in Newton.
