Dear Beth:
I'm 13 and want to ask a girl out but don't know how it's done.
Also I don't know if she's already going out with someone. Please
give me some advice.
QUINCY HOLLOW
Ask one of her friends to find out if she's going out with anyone.
If she isn't, then make efforts to get to know her better. Start
saying "Hi" and smiling when you see her. Try to get conversations
going to discover if you have things you both like to talk about.
If she seems responsive, and interested in you, then you can ask
her out. If you want to know right away, ask her friends to find
out if she likes you or would like to go out with you, but you'll
have a better time if you get acquainted first.
