Reading about wine, as you are doing right now, has one obvious
and severe limitation. It is impossible to drink the pages of a
newspaper, magazine or book. But though the civilized habit of wine
tasting hinges finally on what is in the glass, it cannot be
practiced with full pleasure unless it is placed in a context of
