Jim Schoenfeld halted his first practice as coach of the
Washington Capitals, called for his players to come together and
then counted the seconds until they arrived at the huddle.
"The first time it took 12 seconds and he said that wasn't too
good," captain Kevin Hatcher said. "We had to wait for Tabby {Rick
Tabaracci} because the goalies have longer to go."
Schoenfeld told them to turn around and do it again - quicker.
They eventually got the idea and eventually all chuckled about it,
but there was a point that Schoenfeld was trying to make: Some sort
of tone needs to be set right away, and the Capitals, who flew to
Philadelphia today for Saturday's 1 p.m. contest against the Flyers ...
