Jim Schoenfeld halted his first practice as coach of the Washington Capitals, called for his players to come together and then counted the seconds until they arrived at the huddle.

"The first time it took 12 seconds and he said that wasn't too good," captain Kevin Hatcher said. "We had to wait for Tabby {Rick Tabaracci} because the goalies have longer to go."

Schoenfeld told them to turn around and do it again - quicker.
