Dance Floor wasn't too legit and he quit.
Saturday's $500,000 Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park had a sour
ending for rap artist/horse owner Hammer as his Dance Floor, the
odds-on favorite, tired in the stretch and was beaten by 12-1 shot
Technology ($26.20 to win). Dance Floor, an impressive winner of the
Fountain of Youth, was off at 4-5 and you can bet that a lot of that
money came from the heavy hitters in Hammer's bulky entourage.
Ridden by Chris Antley, Dance Floor looked like a winner at the
quarter-pole -- exciting Hammer, who was resplendent in red and not
only wore a shirt but also a tie -- as he loomed up outside of the
leading Technology at the quarter-pole with Antley looking ...
