Article: 2 Bay State men charged in auto insurance fraud

Attorney General Scott Harshbarger yesterday announced the indictments of two men charged separately with automobile insurance fraud.

Authorities said William D'Orlando, 34, of Salem, collected more than $12,000 in allegedly fraudulent claims made to four different insurance companies.

D'Orlando is accused of telling each company that his car was involved in an accident on June 15, 1991, between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. The companies allegedly defrauded are Metropolitan Property and Liability Co., Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Sentry Insurance Co., and Aetna Casualty and Surety Co.
