Article: Police search for 2 North Shore girls missing since Monday

Police in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Salem, and Boston are looking for two teen-age girls who have not been seen by relatives or friends since Monday afternoon, when they traveled to Boston from their North Shore homes on a shopping trip.

Melita Picciotto, 16, of Salem, and Kate Goutal, 14, of Manchester, schoolmates and friends at Manchester Junior-Senior High School, were officially declared missing persons yesterday, Manchester Police Chief Ronald Ramos said.

Ramos said investigators have no evidence of foul play in the disappearances, but police and the families of the girls are concerned that neither has called home since 5 p.m. Monday.
