Remember when New York Giants football great Roosevelt Greer was
filling the television screen demonstrating his prowess at
needlepoint?
Yes, needlepoint. And Erica Wilson makes two. She was on PBS,
the Julia Child of continental stitch, basketweave and half-cross.
That was 20 years ago, when it seems everyone was doing
needlepoint. They stitched pillows and more pillows, rugs and wall
hangings, picture frames and tea cozies, teddy bears and Christmas
stockings, evening purses and evening slippers, tennis racket cases
and even tennis shoes. "And some things that weren't a good idea,"
