You take the championship of a purely American game (yeah, yeah, yeah, it has undeniably British ancestry, but let's not get overly technical here), stage a championship match between representatives of your two best professional leagues and call it a World Series.

The World Cup. Now that's a real global championship. But World Series? They won't be glued to the TVs and radios in downtown Athens. The sports talk shows in Ulan Bator won't be evaluating how much losing the DH will hurt the Blue Jays.
