BERLIN -- The phone call came at night, an anonymous caller saying
that neo-Nazi skinheads were on the march to the refugee center in
the Spandau neighborhood of Berlin.
Within minutes, many of the Gypsy families were in a panic. They
gathered up their children and rushed to another refugee center a few
blocks away. Once there, they were told to shut the doors and
windows and keep their children off the street.
The march never materialized. But the panic indicated the fear
that nibbles at the edge of a refugee's life in Germany these days.
"If you ask me, the worst nation I know is the Germans," said Juso
