Article: Beijing to stage international performing arts festival

ix years ago when Chen Jixin participated for the first time in the annual conference of the International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) in New York, she was surprised that the panel forum on Asia listed no speakers from China.

As deputy general manager of China National Culture & Art Co, Ltd, she said she realized then and there that China was still loitering outside the world arena for performing arts.

Six years later, Chen and her colleagues are busy preparing for the China Performing Arts Fair and 2002 ISPA International Forum, scheduled to open on March 8.
