Article: Australia given list of suspected war criminals

SYDNEY: The Simon Wiesenthal Centre human-rights organization has given Australia a list of 22 suspected Lithuanian Nazi war criminals it believes fled to Australia.

The centre said this is Canberra's last chance to show political will and pursue war criminals.

In a statement on the centre's website, centre director Efraim Zuroff said: "Australia remains the only Western country to which large numbers of Nazi war criminals and collaborators emigrated after World War II which has hereto failed to take successful legal action against a single such person."
