Article: Punitive taxes on ROK imports

China announced during the week-long Spring Festival holiday its intention to levy anti-dumping tariffs on imports of PET chip and polyester stable fibre from South Korea.

The measures will be valid for five years until February 3, 2008, a notice issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co- operation (MOFTEC) announced.

The cases began on August 3, 2001, at the request of the China Chemical Fibre Industries' Association.

Tariffs on imports of PET chip are 5 per cent for Daehan Synthetic Fibre Co Ltd, 11 per cent for KP Chemical Corporation and Saehan Industries Inc, 13 per cent for Huvis Corporation and SK Chemical, 8 per cent for Hankook Synthetics Inc, 6 ...
