Critics of Sen. Charles S. Robb (D-Va.) argued yesterday that
newly disclosed allegations of personal misconduct have raised
serious doubts about his integrity, while Robb and some fellow
Democrats contended he has put those questions to rest.
Virginia Republicans and Robb's Democratic detractors compared
allegations of past sexual indiscretions by Robb to similar charges
faced by President Clinton. Robb's foes said they expect his private
life to be a continuing focus of his reelection campaign because
they do not believe he has truthfully addressed an array of
accusations against him.
