Article: French auto giant vies for bigger market share

French automaker Renault will soon announce a long-awaited overall strategy for China, the world's fastest-growing major vehicle market, according to a company executive.

The strategy, due to be released in summer, will include the automaker's plans to produce in and export to China, said Patrick Debrot, president of Renault's Asia-Pacific operation, who declined to reveal specifics.

Renault is the only global auto giant that does not have a well- established vehicle manufacturing base in China.
