"I couldn't have asked for more," Joe Juneau said.
Yes, Juneau (who pronounces his first name zho-ay) got off to a
rollicking good start with the Washington Capitals. Along with
fellow newcomers Jim Johnson and Joe Reekie, all of whom came to the
Capitals through trades Monday, Juneau hit the ice at about 7:30
p.m. And what a debut it was.
Just 4:56 into the game against the Hartford Whalers, Juneau,
working the crease on a power play, slid the puck across the ice to
defenseman Kevin Hatcher, who sent it to Calle Johansson, who
powered a 25-foot shot past Whalers goalie Sean Burke for a 1-0
lead.
