So President Clinton has just made you a Cabinet secretary, and
you're checking out the office. The rug's in good shape, the
furniture's all right, but what about the paintings? "Portrait of a
Moth-Eaten Bureaucrat"; "Still Life With Dead Mud Hen"; "The Canals
of Venice" on black velvet; and an insane abstract that looks like
it was finger-painted by the chimpanzee J. Fred Muggs.
