FLORENCE: Along the famous Ponte Vecchio (Vecchio bridge) over the
river Aron which flows through Florence, small jewellery boutiques
vie with each other to attract tourists from all over the world.
The whole city of Florence is a living art museum, with Italian
jewellery being one of the major exhibits.
Art has always played a major role in Italy, which was not only
the cradle of the Renaissance, and the home of Michelangelo and
Leonardo da Vinci, but is also one of the world's centres of
jewellery design and manufacturing.
