Preparations for the ASEM Forum and Exhibition on Tourism Investment and Co-operation are in full swing.

The event, approved by the State Council and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), is scheduled to take place in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong Province, from October 19 to 22.

"As the largest ever ASEM event held in areas of trade and business since it was initiated in 1996, the forum and exhibition will mainly serve as a platform to promote tourism and investment as well as to strengthen co-operation and communication between participants," said Li Shuqin, vice-mayor of Yantai.
