Plans for a 21,000-seat concert arena in western Prince William
County that would be larger than either Wolf Trap Farm Park or the
Patriot Center have been put on hold by the county Planning
Commission, which has asked arena backers to address several
concerns.
On March 16, the commission delayed approval of the $13 million
project for at least 90 days. The commission members are worried
that the arena, planned by concert promoter Cellar Door Inc., would
overwhelm roads in the county, where a Walt Disney theme park and a
horse racing track also are proposed.
