The capital city of Hunan Province, Changsha, aims to build its
printing industry into the city's economic pillar by the end of the
11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-10).
"The fast economic development in Central China in the near future
will provide a solid foundation for the city to further develop its
printing industry," said Wang Tize, director of the Changsha
Municipal Press and Publication Bureau.
At present, Changsha has a total of 620 printing enterprises, with
a combined registered capital of 1.23 billion yuan (US$153.7 million)
and workshop areas of 930,000 square metres.
With about 25,300 employees, Changsha's printing enterprises
