WORLD Homage to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Festival Hall .....
NUSRAT Fateh Ali Khan was a singer of Pavarotti-like stature and
popularity, who brought Pakistani Sufi music to a huge international
audience until his death a decade ago.
Marking that anniversary, this concert featured his nephew, Rahat
Fateh Ali Khan, who was trained by and often performed with Nusrat.
The style of Islamic devotional music popularised by Nusrat is
qawwali, featuring ecstatic vocals accompanied by harmonium, tablas
