Article: Soul trader

The long shadow of debt is driving former students to ever more desperate measures. Graham Malham, 26, of Newcastle, announced last week that he will sell his soul for pounds 10, including "free postage and packing". Mr Malham, who describes himself as "a complete atheist" has promised the buyer a certificate of ownership, penned in his blood.

This raises the question whether Mr Malham actually believes in the true existence of his soul. If he knowingly makes a sale of nothing, masquerading as something, he could be vulnerable under the Trade Descriptions Act.
