The stock market continues to totter, savings rates are at their
lowest for decades and endowment and pension policy bonus rates are
tumbling fast. It is hardly surprising that more and more investors
are turning to Premium Bonds.
News that National Savings and Investments has this month created
its 100th Premium Bond millionaire will provide further encouragement
to those yet to take the plunge.
Premium Bonds were launched in November 1956, but sales have
really taken off in the past 10 years. They are now National Savings'
most popular product. The amount of money invested in Premium Bonds
has quadrupled since 1994. More bonds were sold in January this year
