In a 13-minute 23-second stretch that spanned two periods last
night, the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals together wrote
the book on two-man power plays. The Capitals authored the how-to
section. The Rangers authored the how-not-to part.
Using the momentum of a defensive stop during a two-man
disadvantage and later getting a Joe Juneau goal on a two-man
advantage of their own, the Capitals earned a 4-2 victory at USAir
Arena and cut the Rangers' lead to three games to one in this
best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series.
