Article: Top fund managers fear Footsie fall

ALMOST one third of Britain's top-rated fund managers believe the UK stock market will either fall or be flat in 2003, according to a new poll.

The research, carried out by Citywire, the financial information website, underlines growing fears in the City of a fourth successive year of falling stock markets.

Though 59 per cent of fund managers said that they expected the stock market to rise in 2003, they predict that the increase will be under 10 per cent.

The Citywire survey polled 30 out of 33 fund managers who are top ranked or AAA-rated based on the performance of their funds over the past three years. It included some of the highest profile retail fund managers, including Anthony Nutt ...
