THE PAST seven days have been turbulent for the parents of Rachel
Whitear. Last week, her mother Pauline Holcroft, 53, and stepfather
Michael, 55, were informed that two men had been arrested in
connection with her death - one on suspicion of her manslaughter.
"We have not slept for several nights because of the worry and
stress of not knowing where this is going," said Mrs Holcroft
yesterday. "It seems to us that what is at stake is not just the
possibility of finding out the truth of what happened to Rachel, but
also wider implications for the families of other heroin users whose
deaths have been logged as overdoses without proper investigation."
