Article: Chester Linney, 71, Dies; Ex-Post Mail Room Worker

Chester Linney, 71, who retired in 1986 after 25 years as a mail room helper at The Washington Post, died of cancer May 19 at Georgetown University Hospital. He lived in Washington.

Mr. Linney was a native of the District and a graduate of Eastern High School. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Before joining The Post, he had held a variety of jobs, including work as a truck driver.

He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

His wife of 10 years, Jewell Linney, died in 1981. Survivors include a sister, Agnes Ernest of Washington.
