In early 2000, Lego was named 'Toy of the Century' by both Fortune
Magazine and the British Association of Toy Retailers.
The Lego group has approximately 7,300 employees worldwide, and
produces 15 billion Lego components every year (1.7 million items per
hour). On average, every person on earth has 52 Lego bricks.
A 2x4 Lego brick measures 16mm by 32mm by 9.6mm high. It is a very
painful thing to step on with bare feet.
There are more than 915 million different ways of combining six
eight-stud bricks of the same colour.
Over the years, four billion Lego people (minifigures) have been
produced. This makes them the world's largest population group.
