AN INVESTIGATION has been demanded into claims that the euro-
sceptic UK Independence Party has been funding activities in this
country with money that should only be spent in Brussels.
Tony Scholefield, a former Ukip party secretary who served on its
ruling committee for 11 years, is one of several senior figures who
want an inquiry into allegations that group allowances paid by the
European Parliament to support MEP activities in Brussels have been
spent on a range of UK activities. Such spending would breach
European Parliament laws.
