The SkyDome curse doesn't work on the Baltimore Orioles any
more - at least not when the bullpen gates swing open and Dave
Righetti jogs to the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays. That's what it
has come to for the Blue Jays, who allowed four ninth-inning runs
and lost to the Orioles, 5-1, before 50,508 tonight.
This building has been a house of horrors for the Orioles
(39-31). Usually, however, they're not playing a last-place club
when they come here.
The Orioles are 13-20 at SkyDome, their worst record in any
American League ballpark. Ten of those defeats, beginning with the
showdown final series of the 1989 season, have come in the Blue
