Those oversized ducks that haul tourists around Baltimore's
roadways and waterways may become an endangered species.
Ride the Ducks, the amphibious city tour service known for making
tourists "quack" at residents, is negotiating for a better location
than its current home at a kiosk near the visitor's center at the
Inner Harbor.
So far, talks with the Baltimore Development Corp., the city's
economic development arm, and General Growth Properties Inc. have not
produced an agreement. Ride the Ducks leases the kiosk from General
Growth, a Chicago-based real estate investment trust that owns
Harborplace and the Gallery at Harborplace shopping venues.
